Our History
Our history began in 2000, with 15 people, with an increasing number each year up to 40 by the year 2003, after much effort appealing to our principal, Mrs Khee to start bowling in 1999 by Ming Yi. Miss Debbie Loh ,first teacher in charge, headed the team in the 7th National Sch C'Div Championships. Then Miss Ng Cher Fa took over for a short period of time before she handed the team to Mr. Joseph Lim, who is currently the teacher-in-charge,in late July 2001. He converted bowling as a leisure sport, to a competitve sport.
In the year 2000, Lim Ming Yi did our school proud by winning a silver medal for the individual event in the 7th National Schools' C'Div Championships 2000. She also became part of the National Youth Training Squad and represented our nation in the Asian Youth FIQ Championship 2001, in Dubai (UAE). In less than 3 years, we achieved 4th in the overall school position in 2003 National Schools' C'Div Championships and did our school proud again by attaining the first East Zone Team Award.
We started off training in Jackie's Bowl under Mr Henry Tan and later changed to East Coast Cathay in Octouber 2000. Recently, we changed our homeground to SAFRA Tampines in October 2003. Currently, we have 5 coaches from Changi Beach Club, headed by Mr. Jack Wong. They are Jack Wong, Evelyn Tan, Francis Rodricks, Jeffery Tan and Allan Ong. -archive-
